Senior Finance Business Partner

Our client, a leading player in the Engineering sector, is currently seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their team. This permanent role involves overseeing management accounting, with key interactions across the finance Operations functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounts, budgets, and quarterly forecasts, along with commentaries and associated reporting.
  • Provide pricing and bid support to Project Managers and Directors, ensuring the integrity of bid models.
  • Monthly tasks: Consolidate and review accounts, reconciliations, reporting, glide path analysis, cashflow planning, and lock-up management.
  • Quarterly tasks: Oversee quarterly forecasts, associated reporting, and engage with capacity planning.
  • Annual tasks: Manage PAYE Settlement Agreement market returns, audit documentation preparation, Cabinet Office returns, and Factbook submission.
  • Support finance reviews of investment proposals.
  • Serve as a Business Partner, working closely with the Finance team and Operations Manager on tactical decision-making.
  • Ensure adherence to internal operating procedures by collaborating with the wider finance team.
  • Supervise and manage junior staff.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and provide support to the Senior Business Finance Partner.

Job Requirements:

  • A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
  • Knowledge of finance processes, standards and systems, particularly those used by our client, is advantageous.
  • Experience in business partnering.
  • Ability to travel as required by the role.

  • Well-developed commercial knowledge and business understanding.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel.
  • Broad understanding of tax and compliance matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable interacting with staff and management at all levels.

  • Attention to detail while maintaining a tactical viewpoint.
