Adecco Housing is seeking a Housing Officer on a temporary basis. (Role likely to become temp-perm) You will be positive and flexible, with a positive attitude and have great attention to detail. You will love engaging with people and focused on building a community with designated properties to manage.

ROLE IS X5 DAYS ON SITE 8A.M-4P.M (With 1hour lunch)

Role Profile:

  1. To act as key focal point for all residents to whom you will provide information; deal with all enquiries; investigate and resolve all issues. To maintain effective positive relationships with residents, partners and colleagues at all times. To provide a high quality customer service.
  2. Deal effectively with complaints and ASB cases in line with organisation, managing each through to completion.
  3. Take prompt action on breaches of the tenancy or lease; informing residents of actions, which must be accurately recorded.
  4. Carry out a first visit to new tenants' homes. Inform tenants about the services on the estate; explain the nature of the organisation; advise on their responsibilities; and give details about their rent and service charges if applicable.
  5. Conduct regular welfare visits, including Tenancy Audits, to all tenants and occupiers on the estates. To inspect properties where there is a housing-related issue; such as ASB, nuisance, damp, disrepair, or insurance claims.
  6. To co-ordinate the completion of all required VOID property processes and documents to allow efficient reletting of the property, to include Gas Certificates, Electrical Performance Certificates (EPCs), Asbestos surveys, post inspections, lock changes and offer letters.
  7. To carry out all key stage front line duties to let empty (VOID) properties efficiently, including pre-vacation visits if applicable, viewings of properties and new tenant sign ups, in line with the council.
  8. Arrange approved transfers, decants and mutual exchanges as required, providing clear advice to residents, and giving assistance when needed. Record property conditions and take inventories, when necessary.
  9. Carry out estate inspections and notify residents of any fire inspection risks, health and safety risks, and communal area risks. Serve notices where appropriate, and carry out all follow-up actions.
  10. To attend resident involvement events to encourage and support resident participation
  11. To properly record and report repairs. Monitor progress of works and keep residents well-informed at all times.
  12. To prepare case reports and witness statements, and attend court hearings and case conferences as required.
  13. To provide the Manager with all relevant information, this will include the writing and producing of reports.
  14. Responsible for one's own continuous development. Keep up to date with trends and changes in the Housing Sector, legislation and best practice; and deliver services accordingly.
  15. Deliver on key performance indicators and targets, and report all service delivery aspects to the manager.
  16. Maintain high-quality records to meet statutory obligations and the performance requirements of the organisation.
  17. Assist in producing and developing content for regular estate-based newsletters and other literature.
  18. Perform various administrative tasks, including ordering stationery and managing bookings for the community hall.
  19. Foster a positive relationship with supporting staff and board members.
  20. Attend internal and external meetings as necessary, with time off in lieu available for meetings outside normal office hours.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Experience of property/housing management
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and current practice
  • Working with the public effectively and constructively in a front line service
  • Compiling and writing reports
  • Responding to complaints
  • Following instructions, and adhering to procedures
  • Facilitating customer groups
