We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic team at a fantastic SEN school in Hertford. If you have experience in an SEN environment and are motivated by helping every child reach their full potential, we'd love to hear from you!

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide crucial support to students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties. Working closely with teachers and other professionals in the education and training, you will help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where each child can thrive. This role in Hertford involves one-on-one and small group work, assisting with lesson planning, and adapting resources to meet individual learning styles and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN in both classroom and individual settings
  • Attend to pupils' personal needs, including social health, first aid and welfare matters.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour and support positive outcomes
  • Provide a caring, empathetic, and structured environment for children to grow and learn
  • Assist in tracking progress and adapting learning plans as needed
  • Liaise with parents, guardians, and other staff members to ensure comprehensive support for each student

About You:

  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role
  • A compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting students with additional needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • An understanding of SEN strategies and the ability to implement these in a classroom setting
  • A genuine commitment to helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Qualifications:
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of SEN tools and strategies is highly desirable
