About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Applications Delivery Manager to join our IT Corporate Core Customer Applications and Services department on a 12-month fixed term contract to lead our team of IT Workstream Leads and Data Mappers.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day ownership of the IT aspects of the project or programme deliverables, ensuring that IT objectives are met and in line with expectations and timescales. You'll be working alongside senior stakeholders, driving change, and supporting our ITIL processes to ensure the project delivery is fit for purpose with a seamless transition into the IT business as usual team. You'll lead a team of multi skilled IT Workstream Leads, delivering IT changes and project assignments, providing appropriate governance, and ensuring alignment with overall programme or project goals.

As the IT Applications Delivery Manager, you'll be the primary point of contact for Programme Managers and internal teams, ensuring clear communication regarding project statuses, issues, and deliverables. You'll ensure the team of IT Workstream Leads work consistently and collaboratively in accordance with IT planning, resourcing, release, implementation, and governance processes, and manage, mentor, and lead the team of IT Workstream Leads and Data Mappers, maintaining a cross functional and collaborative work environment.

You'll oversee the team's delivery of the IT components, ensuring they meet NFU Mutual's IT standards, working with IT Workstream Leads and Project Managers to ensure that all potential IT risks to project delivery are captured, working with other IT teams to develop mitigation strategies.

You'll work closely with other IT Applications Delivery Managers to ensure that IT estimates are accurate and are provided in a timely manner and you'll monitor project resources, ensuring efficient and effective allocation and utilisation by all Programmes.

About you

As an IT Applications Delivery Manager, you'll have strong stakeholder management skills, ensuring best practice and industry standards are followed. You'll have excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly to diverse audiences and have the ability and confidence to analyse complex situations and make decisions and recommend effective solutions.

You'll be an experienced IT manager, with experience in leading and motivating teams, helping them achieve common goals. Using your strong organisation skills, you'll be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively and be comfortable meeting and setting deadlines. Demonstrating excellent technical knowledge, you'll have a strong understanding of project methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and underpinning Agile tools. You'll have the ability to build and mature delivery teams, their processes, and associated controls and have good commercial awareness.
