Job Summary:
The Estimator will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs and preparing detailed estimates for residential refurbishment and commercial fit-out projects. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the construction industry, particularly in these sectors, and possess strong analytical and numerical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential refurbishment and commercial fit-out projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Bid Preparation: Develop comprehensive bid proposals and tender submissions, ensuring all documentation is complete and meets client requirements.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market trends and cost fluctuations.
- Project Evaluation: Assess project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand the scope and requirements of each project.
- Client Liaison: Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements, provide cost breakdowns, and address any queries or concerns.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates, recommending strategies to mitigate or capitalize on them.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals and budgets.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates, quotes, and correspondence, ensuring all information is organized and easily accessible.
Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on residential refurbishments and commercial fit-outs.

Education: Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., RICS, CIOB) are advantageous.

Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar.
