Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum

We are currently seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our accountancy practice based in Reigate. This role offers the opportunity to work within a professional team, providing comprehensive bookkeeping services to a diverse client portfolio.

Day to day of the role:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for clients.
  • Process financial transactions including sales and purchase invoices.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile financial discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Manage payroll processing for clients, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
  • Liaise with clients to gather financial data, receipts, and other documentation.
  • Provide support during year-end processes and liaise with accountants for the preparation of annual accounts.
  • Utilise bookkeeping software efficiently, ensuring that all financial data is entered correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Offer financial administrative support as needed, including filing and managing client queries.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of VAT, payroll processing, and other financial regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple clients and adapt to varying business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
