Location: Whitstable Salary: £40K + Benefits
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you an experienced Associate Project Manager with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering successful projects? Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is looking for a dynamic individual to support the smooth execution of innovative projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise to a fast-paced environment where your contributions will have a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery: Drive lean product delivery for various projects, tracking statuses, managing budgets (CAPEX & OPEX), and monitoring progress, risks, and schedules.
  • Supplier Communication: Manage and support communication with external suppliers, ensuring clear and effective cross-functional collaboration to meet project deadlines.
  • Team Leadership: Build, motivate, and lead project teams to ensure the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Cost & Budget Management: Oversee CAPEX (one-off machinery payments) and OPEX (operational expenditures), ensuring the project stays within financial boundaries.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and work closely with risk owners to ensure they are progressing mitigation actions, minimising impact on project timelines.
  • Resource Planning: Support functional leads with estimating and coordinating current and future project resource requirements.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate monthly project progress reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), and assist with developing project business cases and budget forecasts.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Essential:

  • HND, NVQ Level 5 or higher

  • Formal Project Management qualification (PMI preferred), such as Prince 2 certified (Practitioner)

  • APM Fundamentals Qualification (training can be provided)

  • At least 2 years of demonstrable experience in a Project Management role

  • Proven experience in cross-functional communication and managing supplier relationships

  • Knowledge of CAPEX and OPEX budgeting, including experience in tracking and managing costs

  • Desirable:

  • Degree in Engineering or Science

  • Experience managing projects within a manufacturing business, particularly focused on new product introductions and safety-critical products
