SQL Data Migration Lead – Contract - Birmingham – Inside IR35
VIQU have partnered with a Birmingham based organisation seeking a SQL Data Migration Lead to support on a critical migration project to a new cloud platform.
The existing SQL database has significant gaps in documentation, and its structure is unclear. We need an expert who can autonomously manage this standalone role with limited support.
The key responsibilities for the SQL Data Migration Lead are therefore as follows:
- Independently investigate and document the existing database schema, uncovering the underlying structure and relationships of numerous tables.
- Ensure all data can be accurately and efficiently extracted and migrated while maintaining data integrity and performance.
- Create comprehensive documentation, establish validation processes, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the migration process.
Key skills and experience for the SQL Data Migration Lead:
- Extensive background working with SQL (SQL Server 2008 onwards) and SQL Databases.
- Proven experience working in environments with little to no documentation and successfully implementing thorough documentation practices.
- Strong expertise in Data Migration, specifically migrating data from on-premise to cloud environments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and initiative.

- Role: SQL Data Migration Lead
- Duration: 2 month contract
- IR35: Inside IR35 - (Off-payroll regulations apply)
- Rate: £400 - £500 per day
- Location: Remote based, ad hoc travel to Birmingham
