We are seeking a capable Motor Claims Handler to join a busy and friendly team in the Portsmouth area. If you have experience in Motor Claims, with strong communication and negotiation skills and a passion for building strong customer relationships over the phone, we want to hear from you. This is a hybrid role with two office-based days per week. Our Client may consider a completely home-based role for a candidate with strong Personal Injury (PI) or 'Large loss' experience for candidates based within an hour of Portsmouth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively updating, processing, and settling motor claims in accordance with service standards
- Ensuring reserves accurately reflect the level of damages for each case
- Identifying and addressing potential fraudulent claims according to guidelines
- Determining liability based on case law and accident circumstances
- Adhering to regulatory requirements, including Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), Data Protection Act (DPA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Anti-Bribery principles
- Complying with company health and safety policies
Requirements:
- Experience in handling motor claims essential
- Proven experience liaising with insurers, claimants, and defendants
- Strong understanding of liability, reserving, assessment, payments, various claimants, and claimant representatives
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Strong negotiation and influencing abilities
- Effective time management and organisational skills
