Network Architect (DV Cleared) - Major Technology Transition Programme

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Architect with

active DV clearance

to join our team for a major technology transition initiative. This is a contract role anticipated to last up to 2 years.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Architecture Design:

• Develop high-level network architectures that align with the organization's strategic goals.

• Design and document network standards, procedures, and guidelines.

• Collaborate with security teams to ensure network security best practices are integrated into the architecture.

• Technology Transition:

• Lead and coordinate the migration of network infrastructure to new technologies and platforms.

• Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with the transition.

• Develop and execute detailed migration plans and schedules.

• Collaborate with network engineers to ensure smooth implementation.

• Capacity Planning:

• Analyze network traffic patterns and identify future capacity needs.

• Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to ensure optimal network performance.

• Vendor Management:

• Manage relationships with network equipment vendors.

• Evaluate and select network hardware and software solutions.

• Security and Compliance:

• Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect network infrastructure.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.

• Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Active DV Clearance: Essential.

• Extensive Network Architecture Experience: Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing complex network architectures.

• CCNP or CCIE Certification: Mandatory.

• Strong Technical Skills:

• Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, etc.)

• Experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)

• Knowledge of network management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Prime)

• Familiarity with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python)

• Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

• Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and identify root causes.

• Strong analytical skills to evaluate network performance and identify optimization opportunities.

• Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

• Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with network virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI)
• Knowledge of cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Experience with network function virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN)
