Quantity Surveyor

Posted by Randstad Construction & Property.

I am recruiting for a Tier 1 national construction business who need an experienced Quantity surveyor to join the team to work on 3no. new school schemes in Kingston, New Malden and Sutton.

The company are a recognised brand with turnover in excess of a billion per year but still retain a family feel to the business in terms of values and how they treat staff, clients and the wider supply chain. They work on frameworks and negotiated schemes in the education, health care, retail and development, office and leisure marketplaces. Project values range from £25 to £90 million and they are with the client every step of the way offering advice, support and finding new and innovative ways of working.

The projects are new build schemes awarded through the DFE framework and range in value from £32to £50 million in value on a standard JCT form of contract.

Your role will initially be to procure the first and most critical subcontract packages such as groundworks, frame and the services packages and then have full commercial control of the project. You will have an intermediate qs and trainee on site and you will be expected to manage, train, develop and allocate their time and resources effectively. You will have oversight of the site accounting procedures and be expected to take a hands on role with the critical decisions. You will closely with the PM on site and set up the procedures for payments, valuations, remeasures, subcontractor engagement and pre-start meetings, chair client meetings, manage the variation account, manage CVR's and other internal reporting metrics all the way through to final account. You will report into a site based Senior QS and have the full support and backing of a national contractor.

The schemes are due to start soon so this is an immediate start for the right candidates so get in touch today.
