An iconic business, founded in the North East have a fantastic opportunity to oversee their data transformation, as they look to migrate their systems and operation to the cloud.

This position is based in North Tyneside and does require office presence, however this employer do embody flexible working.

As a result of year on year growth, the organisation has reimagined their approach with a new data strategy which will see a number of projects undertaken, from a cloud migration to self service analytics on the other side.

The Mission

With data projects pipelined, this business are hoping for a strong allrounder to lead a full data transformation for the business. The hope is that existing tooling can be configured for quick wins, whilst as part of a longer-term plan, the organisation can receive much needed consultation and education around their use of data. With the main systems of this business all being collected virtually, the data quality is in a good place and ready for analysis.

The Role

This is a position that won't just engage you technically, but your ability to communicate at all levels and present to technical & non-technical stakeholders will be utilised. You will be the person that brings in new ways of working and your influence will be felt across the business. We're looking for a intuitive and resourceful data engineer, who's ability to create new procedures and reports is as good as their ability to teach a room full of users how to gather their own data and insights.

We are looking for somebody who is as much passionate as they are technical. Somebody who enjoys working with new systems and are as passionate about helping others, as they are about delivering key insight to their respective business.

You will ideally have experience of some of the below:

- Cloud technology (Azure or AWS) – this organisation are migrating to cloud soon, so any experience here would be great

- Data engineering (ETL) – designing and developing processes, both on-premise and maybe even cloud

- Exposure to BI Tooling – Power BI would be great, however other tool are considered

- Data modelling, manipulation, integration and/or visualisation skills would be greatly received

- Good verbal and presentation communication skills
