Family Support Worker - Children with Complex Needs

Seven Social Care are currently recruiting for 4 Family Support Workers to start a new role in Bootle, Sefton. This role is paying £20.19 per hour

We are looking for Family Support Workers to join the Children with Complex Needs social work service to support families, particularly those with children on the edge of care.

A large part of the work will be to support a child with complex needs in order to enable him to remain in the care of his Nan.

You should be experienced in working in complex care and have excellent communication skills. We are looking for applicants who take a trauma-informed, patient, kind, and attentive approach to their work. You will be required to have the flexibility to work weekends as well as some mornings and/or evenings through the week.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to assessment, care planning and reviews ensuring a child centred focus and empowering children, young people and their families
  • Undertake direct work with children, young people and their families in their homes and the community in a manner which safeguards and promotes positive outcomes for children and young people in line with agreed Children Assessment Framework Plans, Children in Need and Child Protection Plans.
  • Promote contact for children and young people, who are looked after, with their birth family members, providing supervision and assessment in accordance with the Care Plan.
  • Identify and assess levels of risk and need and with support, deliver protective and/or supportive services for children at risk, in need and/or looked after. Take responsibility for reporting of risk properly through the line management structure.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Experience: Experienced in working in complex care and have excellent communication skills
  • Qualifications: Level 3 qualification relating to working with Children and Young People
  • Compliance: Enhanced Childrens DBS, Right to Work in the UKHours: 36 hours a week, flexibility to work weekends, mornings and/or evenings through the week.
  • Travel: Full UK driving license with access to your own car (desirable)
