Genset and CHP Field Service Engineer required. Our client has over 15 years of experience in the cleaning of Landfill gas using Activated and Impregnated Carbon. They are looking for a Genset and CHP Field Service Engineer due to the growth of the business. They are looking for an Engineer in the Swindon/Reading area or Stockport.
Successful candidates will provide service, maintenance, and breakdown support for our nationwide portfolio of gas gensets and CHP engines. This role would suit someone either already in industry or looking for a move from HGV or Diesel. Candidates will need to work inflexible hours or away from home when required.
**Genset and CHP Field Service Engineer
Position Overview
- Service and maintain gensets and CHP engines using biogas and natural gas.
- Conduct oil sampling, parts selection and replacement, and adjust stock levels.
- Competent in working on internal combustion engines from servicing to working with a team carrying out overhauls.
- Deliver excellent customer service and manage technical support roles.
- Maintain communication with the Service Team.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements.
- Document all site visits and complete service reports.
- Perform on-call duties as required.
- Maintain company equipment and uphold high site housekeeping standards.
- Schedule works carrying out oil changes, spark plug changes on CHP and Landfill Engines

Position Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in service engineering or similar. Would consider HGV Engine experience
- Strong mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Proven experience with engine rebuilds and overhauls.
- NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds Mechanical qualification.
- Full driving license.
- Experience with biogas engines advantageous
- Understanding of Electrical systems and fault finding advantageous
- Experience with COMAP control systems advantageous
- Willing to stay away or out of hours when required.

Position Remuneration
- Salary: £35,000- £45,000 maybe negotiable depending on experience.
- Working Hours: 8am-5pm
- Overtime available
- Holiday Package: 21 days + 8BH
