Senior Business Development Manager (Private Equity) - World Leading Law Firm

Posted by Leighton Taylor Consulting.

One of the world's leading law firms requires a highly experienced Senior Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the growth strategy of the firm's elite Private Equity practice, leading business development initiatives and enhancing client relationships to increase market share in key financial centres globally.

Acting as the go-to person on the firm's expertise in Private Equity, the successful applicant will enjoy a varied role, working alongside a team of top lawyers in pursuit of highly sought-after instructions, identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic partnerships. You will be responsible for supporting and executing the Private Equity strategy, aligned with the firm's strategy, to include priority client targeting and initiatives and campaigns to support high-growth products and clients. Working closely with Partners, the Chief Client Officer and the wider business development team, you will implement Private Equity action plans and ensure cross practice, cross-sector and cross-functional alignment in order to achieve proper coverage and effective strategy execution and will report regularly on progress against the plan, refining approach accordingly. The Senior Business Development Manager will carry out in-depth research and generate intelligence briefings on clients, prospects, competitors and industry sectors to inform strategic decisions and will produce bespoke, client-facing pitch materials, presentations and responses to RFPs. On the marketing side, you will collaborate with the marketing department to devise and implement focused marketing initiatives, events and thought leadership projects. In addition, the role holder must ensure marketing materials are current and accurate and will assume overall responsibility for Private Equity related directory submissions and nominations for awards.

In order to perform this challenging role successfully, candidates will need extensive previous experience in business development, ideally gained in a law firm or professional services environment with a focus on Private Equity, to include a proven track record of developing and executing successful business development strategies and initiatives. A highly motivated self-starter with excellent relationship-building skills and strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams, the Senior Business Development Manager should hold a degree, or equivalent, and must be confident, articulate, resilient and focused. A strong understanding of the Private Equity market, the key players and the regulatory landscape will also be prerequisite.
