Credit Controller - 12 month FTC - Reading - £26.000 - £28.000
I am currently recruiting for a Credit Controller for an exciting business based on the outskirts of Reading. This is an exciting role working for a company who truly values their staff.
Key duties:
- Monitor and review customer accounts to identify overdue balances.
- Ensure all payments are collected within agreed credit terms.
- Evaluate new and existing customers' creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits.
- Perform credit checks and analysis on prospective and current customers.
- Follow up on overdue invoices through calls, emails, and letters.
- Resolve payment discrepancies and disputes in a timely manner.
- Negotiate payment plans with customers when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit control activities.
- Prepare and present regular reports on debtors, collections, and credit status to management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to credit control.
- Identify potential risks in credit management and propose solutions to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of credit management principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and familiarity with accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
