Our client is a highly respected, professional services business in Newcastle city centre. As a result of continued growth, there is now an opportunity for an HR Assistant to join the HR Manager on a part time basis. This is a part time role working 17 - 21 hours per week, with flexibility on the working pattern and could be worked over 3 or 4 days.

What's involved:

  • HR administration on all elements from hire to retire
  • Assisting with recruitment, including preparing job descriptions, posting adverts, initial CV sifting, arranging interviews and the initiation and tracking of various background checks
  • Supporting with employee onboarding
  • Maintenance of electronic employee files and records, attendance records and performance review documentation
  • Creation of employee documents, including contract amendments letters for promotions, salary increases, changes to terms and conditions and termination paperwork
  • Assisting with updating Human Resources policies and processes
  • Updating the HR section of the company Intranet to ensure that all information stored is up to date and relevant
  • Support the HR Manager with wellbeing and engagement activity
  • As you develop in the role, you will have exposure to more ER matters

Experience you need:

  • Previous experience in an HR administration role with a working knowledge of HR functions and best practices
  • Working knowledge of employment law and Human Resources responsibilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise time
  • Excellent IT skills including excel, outlook and word
  • A desire for continuing professional development
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion
