Science teachers for KS3 and KS4

Do you have excellent communication and classroom management skills?

We are looking for a committed teacher to join our team in Lancaster, working with KS3 and KS4 students. Compensation for this role ranges from £155 to £230 per day, determined by your experience, qualifications, and teaching skills.

In this position, you will create and implement engaging lesson plans, manage classroom behaviour, and assess student progress to ensure academic success. Your role will also involve collaborating with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and participating in school-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning

Personal attributes:

  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
