Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Seamstress to join our London team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bridal or luxury garment construction and alteration, an eye for detail, and a dedication to delivering flawless results. This role will involve working closely with our design team to bring each piece to life with precision and care, ensuring every garment meets our high-quality standards and aligns with our brand vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Garment Construction: Craft and assemble bridal pieces from start to finish, following patterns and design specifications provided by the design team.
- Alterations & Adjustments: Conduct fittings and perform alterations, ensuring a perfect fit for each client's unique measurements and preferences.
- Fabric Handling & Cutting: Work with luxury fabrics, ensuring accurate cutting and handling to prevent damage and maintain garment integrity.
- Quality Control: Inspect each completed garment to ensure it meets our clients high-quality standards, addressing any issues proactively.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the design and production teams to execute designs to specification and provide feedback on construction methods or potential improvements.
- Client Interaction (as needed): Assist during client fittings, understanding and incorporating feedback to ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in bridal or luxury fashion as a seamstress or similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in various sewing techniques, hand-finishing, pattern reading, and garment construction.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Knowledge of Fabrics: Familiarity with handling delicate fabrics such as silk, satin, lace, and organza.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach; experience in client fittings is a plus.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and adjust to unique design and fitting requirements.
