We are a thriving secondary school in Newham, looking for a motivated and well-organized Food Technician to join our dedicated Food Technology department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a love for food and a desire to help students develop their culinary skills in a safe and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing ingredients, equipment, and workstations for practical food lessons
- Assisting teachers and students during practical cooking sessions
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the food preparation areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
- Managing stock levels, ordering ingredients, and maintaining equipment
- Supporting students with their practical assessments and food technology projects
- Ensuring safe storage and handling of food materials and equipment
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Food Technician or experience in a food preparation/catering environment
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and health and safety regulations
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- A passion for food, cooking, and working with young people
