The Data Engineering & Architecture Lead will help shape the data engineering practices while playing a key role in building a new data and analytics architecture.

This role involves close collaboration with data architects, engineers, and business stakeholders, offering an opportunity to shape the data and analytics landscape-from data modeling to tool selection.

Description

  • Leadership: Combine data architecture and engineering expertise to lead the design of data solutions. Help shape data teams, manage, and mentor data engineers.
  • Data Management: Establish protocols for data quality, security, and privacy within the data engineering practice.
  • Data Pipeline Development: Lead the design and development of data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, quality, and consistency.
  • Data Modelling: Design and implement data models that support efficient querying and analysis.
  • Performance Optimisation: Monitor and optimise the performance of data components to reduce latency, minimize costs, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Automation: Identify opportunities to automate workflows, data validation, and monitoring processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and support their data-related needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, ETL processes, and data architecture.

Profile

  • Experience in leading data engineering design on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring data engineers.
  • Experience with greenfield or start-up data platform design and development.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code for data developments.
  • Knowledge of multi-cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture best practices and industry trends.
  • Ability to translate complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining data platform elements (pipelines, ingestion layers, data lakes, data warehouses, etc.).
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and reporting environments.

Job Offer
