This thriving public sector organisation is currently seeking a Senior Capital Accounting to join their team on a permanent basis in this newly repurposed role! Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will take the lead on all things capital accounting for the organisation's ever evolving project portfolio, whilst also taking a key lead on the development and maintenance of their financial systems.

The key duties of this Senior Capital Accountant are as follows:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Finance on financial planning, budgeting, and reporting for the organisation's operations and capital projects.
  • Take charge of financial planning and reporting for all grant-funded projects, managing both capital and revenue aspects.
  • Lead initiatives to refine financial systems, boosting their accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Track and manage cash flow for various projects and general operations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with grant providers and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
  • Support external evaluations and audits, implementing necessary improvements.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience managing the financials of large-scale capital projects.
  • At least part-qualified as an accountancy professional.
  • Ideally, a background working in the further education sector, but this is by no means essential.
  • Demonstrable experience of having made system / process automations or been involved in a system implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
