We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to support our Principal Finance Officer and Financial Controller. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in budget monitoring, procurement processes, and ensuring funding is utilised effectively to maintain value for money (VFM). This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong accounting skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Day to day of the role:
- Support the Principal Finance Officer and Financial Controller in budget monitoring and procurement processes.
- Ensure that processes and systems accurately match income against expenditure.
- Maintain the contracts register and staff budget records.
- Keep accurate records of High Needs Income and Expenditure.
- Work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external agencies.
- Plan and organise work schedules to meet agreed deadlines.
- Handle sensitive and confidential issues with discretion and objectivity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified by experience or part-qualified accountant status
- Educated at least to ‘A' level status.
- Experience using SAGE 200 and other recognised ledger packages.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
- A logical and methodical approach to work.
- Good telephone manner and a flexible attitude.
