A new Project Engineer vacancy has arisen in our fast-growing company. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Engineering Project team.

LOCATION:

Skegness, Lincolnshire with regular attendance at the project site

JOB TYPE:

Full Time, permanent

HOURS:

Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm

SALARY:

£60,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team who will be responsible for developing and building an operationally carbon zero cleanroom laundry – a world first – due to be operational in 2027. This is a £15M greenfield project and the first phase of a multi-phase campus site development, to be delivered over the next 10 to 15 years.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of leading or working on major capital projects including industrial construction projects. They will have broad engineering knowledge and will bring ingenuity to solving the technological challenges of the project. They will have project management skills and will contribute to ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time and on budget.

The role will involve:

  • Developing engineering solutions at the forefront of innovation in the laundry industry.
  • Managing virtual teams, coordinating and motivating these groups to deliver project outcomes.
  • Taking a structured and flexible approach to project management tools and behaviours
  • Identifying and managing the project critical path, including managing risks and opportunities.
  • Employing a completer / finisher mindset, being comfortable in the detail of addressing snags to realise the initial vision, taking project outcomes from good to excellent.
  • Selecting contractors and suppliers and managing them as partners.
  • Understanding and engaging project stakeholders through verbal and written communication.
  • Collaborating with key business functions, including Health and Safety and Quality, to deliver projects that are safe and meet customer expectations.
  • Occasional attendance at Micronclean's other UK locations.
  • Occasional national and international travel to visit suppliers, contractors and exhibitions.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Degree level qualification, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
  • Ability to apply engineering knowledge to technological innovation.
  • Experience of multi-million pound construction projects.
  • Experience of cleanrooms or the life sciences industries is desirable.
  • Project management qualifications or experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD to read, amend and create architectural drawings and piping / instrumentation diagrams.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
