Accelerate Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Technician to join a vibrant secondary school in Leeds. Role: Science Technician

Location: Secondary School in Leeds

Start Date: September 2024

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for practical science lessons.
  • Assist teachers in the delivery of engaging and effective science experiments and demonstrations.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the laboratory.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, materials, and chemicals.
  • Provide technical support during lessons and assist with the set-up and dismantling of laboratory equipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs of laboratory apparatus.
  • Support the department in organising and managing resources efficiently.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative practical science activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Science Technician in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with staff and students.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and resource management.
