A global trading house is currently recruiting an Import and Export Coordinator in Chemicals.

This is a part-time position, working from 9:00 to 17:00, picking days between Monday and Friday.

In this role you will be responsible for handling order processing, after-sales support, supplier/buyer correspondence, market research, accounting tasks, sales reporting, and documentation.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy department where they will have varied responsibilities.

TYPE: Permanent, part-time 20 hours per week
WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00, picking days between Monday and Friday
SALARY: £38.5k, prorated for 20 hours (£22k)
START: July 2024
LOCATION: Central London (Hybrid working available)
VISA: Someone whohas the right to work in the UK without any restrictions

Import and Export Coordinator Main Responsibilities:

  • Processing of orders and after sale support to customers
  • Correspond with suppliers and buyers and respond to inquiries
  • Develop product understanding
  • Contact potential and existing customers directly to generate market information on quantity, pricing, and competition
  • Resolve any issues that arise during the export or import of products
  • Accounting - registering for invoices to the customers, registering and inputting payments for suppliers' invoices
  • Monitor and chase overdue invoices for payment
  • Create reports on monthly/ quarterly sales data
  • Identify variances in reports
  • Correct filling of all documentation
  • Ensure that calls are routed to the correct staff and take messages in appropriate circumstances
  • Any other tasks as may be requested by the manager in order to meet the operational need of the business that are deemed to be within the job holder's sphere of competence

Import and Export Coordinator Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree educated ideally in a scientific subject
  • Previous experience with accounting software desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Interest or knowledge of Japanese language and/ or culture (desirable)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Excellent time management skills and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
