Commercial Finance Analyst

Location - Gravesend

Salary - Up to £55,000 DOE

Permanent Full-Time Role Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00

Our client is a fast-growing prepared fruit business supplying the major UK retailers. Their company has expanded rapidly, and it requires the addition of a Commercial Finance Analyst to the Financial Analysis team, focusing on supporting the Commercial Team. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, they will provide support and analysis for margins, costs, and a foundation for planning.

Responsibilities as a successful Commercial Finance Analyst

  • Support weekly financial reporting process (covering when required)
  • Providing analysis & commentary for Management Account Packs
  • Own product costing (EPD & NPD), providing feedback and support to the Commercial Team and keeping models up to date with the latest assumptions
  • Managing 3 months & full year sales forecasts
  • Monitor costs within the business, recommending and tracking CPIs where required
  • Key role for budgets, forecasts and Year-end activities (owning 5yr P&L, commercial, packaging budget, transport budget)
  • Support cross-functional reporting and projects
  • Support and deliver cross-functional training (Excel)

Skills and Experience as a Successful Commercial Finance Analyst

  • Minimum 2:1 Degree in an Accounting / Finance or Business-related subject
  • Final stage or newly qualified CIMA/ACCA
  • 2 years relevant experience within a similar role
  • Experience of manufacturing or an industry focussed on gross margins (desirable)
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, reporting and analysis experience with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proven time management skills: Accustomed to working with and meeting time-critical deadlines and an ability to prioritise workload
  • IT skills - advanced Excel skills (xlookups, SUMIF's, Pivot tables, etc., VBA desirable). Proficient with Word and Microsoft Outlook. Experience of Power BI (desirable)
