The role of a Care Support Worker has a competitive pay rate of £ 16.86 per hour, increasing in line with Harrow Council Pay Scale increments. Other benefits include, accruing up to 28 days holiday per year (including Bank Holidays) and the opportunity to apply for any internal permanent roles within Harrow Council.The Main Purpose of a Care Support Worker:

  • To provide advice and information on the full range and nature of services provided by Adult Social Care and related services, e.g. Health, housing and the voluntary sector.
  • To undertake assessment of need including risk assessment.
  • To create and maintain client records in accordance with departmental policy.
  • To provide support an/or services within Adult Social Care or implement Support Plans with appropriate guidance and approval.
  • To undertake reviews and/or re-assessment of need with existing customers.
  • To arrange appropriate language interpreters for assessments of customers whose first language is not English.
  • To liaise with care providers/agencies on behalf of individual customers in order to maintain appropriate levels of care support.
  • To arrange and co-ordinate adjustments to support plans on behalf of individual customers e.g. service breakdown, suspension/reinstatement of service, service cancellation and equipment repairs in consultation with the Team Manager as needed.
  • To actively promote a high standard of customer care by demonstrating a commitment to
  • regular service evaluation and continuous service improvement and assisting in the design/implementation of appropriate systems and procedures.

About you, the successful Care Support Worker will have:

  • In accordance with the Immigration Act 2016, where the role is customer-facing and the post holder is required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post
  • To arrange and coordinate adjustments to support plans/care packages on behalf of individual service users within Adult Social Care e.g. Cancellation suspension/reinstatement of services and equipment repairs in consultation with team manager as required.
  • To carry out initial investigation of reports to service breakdown, consult Team Manager and arrange appropriate packages of care as directed to ensure safety and minimise risk.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and with telephone callers drawing out key information, identifying risks areas of concerns and using judgement to take forward appropriate actions.
  • Driving Licence & DVLA check along with proof of business Insurance to be provided by the supplier for the worker offered
