We're currently representing a leading independent accountancy firm based near Newmarket, who specialise in accounts and tax advisory services, on their search for a Semi Senior / Senior Accountant.

The role:

As a Semi Senior / Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Working towards or immediately taking ownership of your own portfolio of clients
  • Preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, and reviewing the work of junior members of the team
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Management accounts preparation and analysis
  • Providing tax advice and preparing personal and corporate tax returns
  • Liaising directly with clients to understand their requirements and offer tailored solutions
  • Offering support and guidance to junior staff, helping them to develop their skills
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and accounting standards

About you:

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA/ACCA, or equivalent
  • Strong experience in accountancy practice, with a focus on accounts preparation and tax
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A proactive approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within the role
