Our client, an innovative property management group based in Ilford, Essex, seeks a Financial Controller to run its finance function on a day to day basis. Reporting to the board, the successful candidate will be an instrumental part of the management team advising the Directors and Operations from a finance perspective.
Duties will include:
Managing Finance and Accounting Operations:
- Preparing monthly management accounts for all group companies.
- Coordinating and directing the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Financial reporting to the board.
- Day to day management of finance team.
- Liaison with external advisers.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Maintaining internal controls over financial reporting.
- Review systems processes and controls in order to make improvements
- Ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and tax filings including corporation tax, PAYE and VAT.
Additional Duties:
Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
