Job Title: Production Manager
Salary: £28,000 - £33,000
Location: Dunstable
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Production Manager to oversee and manage our glass manufacturing operations. This role requires a strategic, organised, and hands-on individual who will be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of production, maintaining high-quality standards, and leading a team to achieve operational targets. Experience in the glass industry is beneficial but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management: Oversee the day-to-day production activities to ensure smooth operations, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate the production team, promoting a positive working environment and strong teamwork.
- Scheduling & Planning: Develop and manage production schedules to meet deadlines, minimise downtime, and maximise output.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements through regular inspections and audits.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in production processes using lean manufacturing techniques and best practices.
- Stock Management: Manage inventory levels, liaising with suppliers to maintain adequate stock for uninterrupted production.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and compliant workplace for all staff.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed production reports, analyse data, and provide insights to senior management for ongoing improvements.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing management role.
- Experience in the glass industry is highly advantageous.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
