Location: Tunbridge wells (remote role with occasional onsite requirement)
Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to lead and oversee data protection and privacy initiatives within an International Private Medical Insurance organisation. The successful candidate will be proficient in managing data protection and privacy compliance in a regulated environment, with expertise in handling large-scale SaaS projects. This role offers the flexibility of remote working with occasional on-site requirements.

What you'll do:

As a Data Protection Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing data protection and privacy initiatives within the organisation. You will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, develop policies, conduct impact assessments, and provide expert guidance on SaaS migration projects. Your responsibilities will also include overseeing technical measures for data security, managing incidents, and reviewing agreements with third-party vendors.

  • Act as the subject matter expert on data protection laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant data protection regulations across the business.
  • Develop and maintain data protection policies and procedures.
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy risk assessments.
  • Provide expert guidance on data protection aspects in the deployment and management of SaaS migration projects.
  • Oversee technical measures for data security.
  • Manage data protection incidents, breaches, and near misses.
  • Review data processing agreements (DPAs) with third-party vendors.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Data Protection Manager role will bring a wealth of experience in data protection management, preferably within the financial or insurance sector. You will have proven expertise in managing privacy and data protection in SaaS environments, along with strong technical understanding of cloud infrastructure. Your certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT will further attest to your capabilities. Additionally, your ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment will be key to your success.

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E)
  • Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM)
  • Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT)
  • Proven experience in data protection management
  • In-depth knowledge of data protection frameworks
  • Experience managing privacy and data protection in SaaS environments
  • Experience with data protection in mobile app development environments
  • Strong technical understanding of cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms
