Fund Accountant

Position Overview:

Our client is looking for a talented individual to contribute their expertise to the Finance team while collaborating closely with Development and Asset Management teams. In this role, you'll be instrumental in providing comprehensive financial and accounting support for our third-party venture development and asset management mandates, ensuring smooth operations and financial integrity.

Role and Responsibilities:

As an integral part of the team, your responsibilities will include:

Property Accounting:

  • Manage the intricate details of property-related financials, including generating and posting journals, maintaining tenancy schedules, and overseeing service charge reconciliations.
  • Ensure smooth communication and collaboration with external property managers, handling reports with accuracy.
  • Facilitate timely processing of supplier and contractor invoices, contributing to the efficient operation of projects.

Statutory and Financial Reporting:

  • Take charge of preparing periodic management accounts and information for various entities, showcasing your attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Navigate complex balance sheet reconciliations and inter-company balances with precision, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and consolidated lender reports, contributing to the commitment to transparency and accountability.
  • Play a key role in managing VAT and CIS returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting.

Key Skills and Attributes:

We're seeking a candidate who possesses:

  • Professional accounting qualifications or significant progress towards qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in accounting principles.
  • Proven experience in statutory accounts preparation and a solid understanding of relevant accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, essential for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel skills, enabling you to manipulate and analyse financial data with ease.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to support colleagues across the organisation.

Desirable Skills and Experiences:

In addition, the following skills and experiences would be beneficial:

  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage 50 or similar platforms.
