We are thrilled to announce a new opportunity for a Financial Controller at a well-established law firm in Birmingham City Centre. This is a full-time, permanent position with hybrid working options.

About the client:

Our client is a privately owned and dynamic law practice that has expanded through acquisition, bringing in experienced Partners to their team. They have developed an ambitious growth strategy to further establish themselves as one of the largest law firms while maintaining their business ethics and commitment to excellent client service.

About the role:

The Finance Director is seeking a Financial Controller to support them in both finance and strategic initiatives as the company undergoes growth. The goal is for the Financial Controller to eventually succeed the Finance Director within the next few years, with support and guidance provided throughout the transition.

Responsibilities:

  • In charge of the statutory accounts, liaising with external auditors.
  • Managing a team of 2 direct reports.
  • Contribute to ad hoc project activities, providing valuable insights into mergers and acquisitions.
  • Collaborating with partners and c-suite executives to enhance company performance.
  • Completion of MI to influence key decisions.

About you:

The ideal candidate should have a background from a Top 10 institution, preferably ACA qualified with experience in a law firm or professional services. A key attribute is ambition and a desire for opportunities that allow for progression and personal development. Our client is looking for a hands-on professional who can effectively collaborate with non-finance stakeholders at a senior level.

Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Previous experience working professional services, ideally within legal.
  • Full statutory accounts experience.
  • Previously managed and developed a small team.
