About Us: GTS Transportation specialises in providing expert talent to the rail industry. We are currently seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join us as a Commercial Manager on a short-term consultancy basis. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional with experience in managing supplier commercial delivery within the rail sector.

Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial delivery of up to four contracts focused on dilapidations, with a total project value of approximately £2 million. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with NEC and JCT model form contracts and will be responsible for ensuring smooth supplier delivery and reporting progress to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage commercial delivery of up to four contracts for the delivery of dilapidations, with an overall project value of approximately £2 million.
  • Oversee supplier performance in line with model form contracts (NEC and JCT suites).
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Head of Property & Projects and the Head of Procurement.
  • Ensure all commercial activities are conducted in compliance with contract requirements and company standards.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Quantity Surveyor with extensive experience in the rail sector.
  • Proven expertise in managing supplier commercial delivery of model form contracts, specifically NEC and JCT.
  • Strong background in handling commercial aspects of multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior stakeholders.
  • Available for a 3-month engagement, working 2 days per week.
