Position: Process/Technical Project Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Location: Bridgwater

Shift: Day shift plus bonus

Role Overview:

The Process/Technical Project Engineer will serve as the engineering lead, responsible for defining and delivering new engineering projects that enhance the manufacturing capabilities of the Bridgwater site. Key responsibilities include the successful execution of projects through a structured lifecycle, including introducing new machinery, refurbishing major equipment, and implementing automation in the production line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of technical engineering projects aimed at introducing new manufacturing capabilities and automation to TSSB.
  • Identify opportunities and requirements for engineering projects to enhance TSSB capabilities.
  • Develop effective engineering concepts to address project requirements, including design work to define, document, and validate solution concepts.
  • Prepare business cases for investment in new equipment.
  • Identify and collaborate with suppliers to define and deliver solutions.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budgetary requirements.
  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the safe and effective use of new and enhanced equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Machinery Directive and other relevant regulations through safety risk assessment and validation.

Qualifications:

  • Level 5 qualification or higher (e.g., HND, degree, or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in developing solutions for electro-mechanical machinery, with balanced skills in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience in machinery integration, control systems, and automation.
  • Knowledge of UK and European machinery regulations and relevant standards.
  • Proven track record of leading successful engineering projects through a structured project lifecycle.

  • Project planning and execution: Ability to plan and deliver projects efficiently.

The Technical Project Engineer will work closely with the Engineering Technical team, colleagues from Bridgwater and other sites, and external suppliers as needed to execute projects. They will also play a crucial role in influencing the site's engineering strategy and supporting the development of working practices and skills within the team.
