A great contract opportunity has arisen for a Senior HR Business Partner with credibility and the ability to influence and advise stakeholders as the trusted HR expert, to join our client's organisation on a 6-month contract and play a vital role in supporting their HR team in a generalist capacity, partnering with the business leaders and providing relevant operational and strategic, HR guidance and input.

Senior HR Business Partner Responsibilities

This is a varied generalist position, rather than a project focused role, and will include but not be limited to:

  • Communicating and delivering HR policies, procedures and initiatives in collaboration with centres of excellence
  • Supporting Managers to build well defined job roles and high performing teams
  • Supporting and delivering day-to-day HR activities such as workforce planning, salary reviews, wellbeing and engagement
  • Acting as a trusted Advisor in management meetings and offering appropriate challenge whilst building consensus
  • Influencing and building respectful relationships with stakeholders
  • Remaining abreast of latest industry trends, best practices and regulatory changes and translating them into actionable strategies and initiatives to drive organisational success

Senior HR Business Partner Experience

To be successful in this role you must be a senior level HR professional and a strategic thinker, with experience of working in a generalist HR capacity at an operational and strategic business partnering level and experience. This is a generalist role rather than project focused and so you must have experience of effectively communicating with stakeholders across a business at all levels of seniority, to influence and implement HR activity in their plans from a BAU perspective not just for projects. You will be experienced at managing and supporting an HR team and supporting across the full employee lifecycle with strong experience in employee relations and employment law knowledge. You will be able to prioritise and multi-task with a proactive and independent attitude to work. It is essential that you have experience of supporting across multiple locations in a matrix organisation. You will be experienced at facilitating people change management and organisational design, and enhancing performance management,and career frameworks for example with a solid 5-10 years' + HR experience and focus on business partnering. You will be up to date with the latest regulatory requirements, best practice and industry trends and experienced at using HR data, metrics and evidence to inform and drive decision making and change across a business area.

Senior HR Business Partner Location

This Senior HR Business Partner role is office-based in central Oxford. Please ensure you live within a commutable distance. The role will involve a minimum of 2 days a week in the office with a team day every Thursday in the office and a bi-weekly meeting in Thame that would also need to be attended in person. There are also quarterly meetings in Yorkshire and Newcastle and so you must be prepared to travel to these locations as required.

This is a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract opportunity and although not guaranteed, the contract may be extended or go permanent.
