Commercial Finance Manager - About The Role

A Commercial Finance Manager is required to join a progressive client that sits within a very interesting industry, which is also growing YoY.

As a Commercial Finance Manager, you will support the Group Financial Controller. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a business that is forecasting growth and as such will be suitable for an individual that is also looking for a role that offers a career trajectory beyond this position.

Ultimately you will be given full autonomy to lead the operational, reporting and control elements of the finance team (outward facing team supporting the business). This position is not a group reporting position. Your audience will be the budget holders, analysing the performance of all the legal entities within the UK.

You will be owning the monthly management reporting process with clear communications surrounding the variances on results, forecasts and budgets, including preparation of the board pack.

Regular review of the balance sheet will be required - ensuring that there are no discrepancies with ownership for the weekly and monthly cash forecasts.

This will be a versatile and varied position working to harness relationships across the UK business across all other department heads. Whilst this role is responsible for the commercial elements of this business there is also a responsibility across internal and external controls, statutory reporting in addition to investor / stakeholder management.

The successful Commercial Finance Manager will have/be:

  • ACCA / CIMA / ACCA qualified - with a minimum of 5 years PQE
  • A strong technical background including FRS 102
  • Experience of partnering with people outside of core finance
  • Ability to lead and mentor a finance team
  • Experience of leading / supporting the annual budget process with the budget holders directly
  • Extensive / advanced level Excel skills
