KAP Technical are working with a high-tech manufacturing company specialising in the welding and fabrication of stainless-steel assemblies and gas and fluid handling systems.
Our client is looking for an estimator to join our team and to expand our estimating and assist with quoting activities.
Estimator/Junior Estimator
The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Estimator and/or Operations Director, and the role will include.
- Discussing clients' requirements alongside the Sales team
- Interpreting clients' drawings and specifications
- Working with the production team to determine a manufacturing process and production times.
- Creating a Bill of Materials
- Working with the supply chain to source parts and sub-contract activities
- To compile costings and detailed proposals
- To work with the Sales team to promote proposal to client.
- To handover project to purchasing and production on successful delivery of proposal
- To support production and purchasing throughout project as required
The successful candidate will be:
- Have experience or an active interest as an estimator within the manufacturing industry.
- Accurate and numerate with great attention to detail.
- Technically and commercially aware, and able to understand and interpret drawings and other information.
- Able to compile and/or assist with detailed quotations.
- Able to manage their own workload, and that of their department, and achieve set deadlines.
- A good communicator
- Able to work within a team.
- Be pro-active.
- Be versatile.
- Educated to A-level of higher.
