Production Operative - Mechanical Assembly

Are you a skilled Mechanical Assembly Fitter interested in a new opportunity to grow your career? ASL Technical are now working with a leading Aerospace and Defence supplier as they look to expand their Mechanical Assembly team working on safety critical components.

Main Purpose of the Mechanical Assembly Fitter

Working within a traditional mechanical assembly environment, you will be manufacturing high precision assemblies to exact tolerances. Using technical specifications, defined working methods and drawings to build components and sub-assemblies to required quality standards including.

  • Use kits of parts, hand tools and other equipment to complete assemblies.
  • Inspecting and testing of components and sub-assemblies to required tolerances and technical specification.
  • Following production job cards, ensure appropriate assembly techniques result in work undertaken so that:
  • Processes are carried out in accordance with company processes.
  • Required quality standards are achieved.
  • Productivity is maintained so that the effectiveness and efficiency of the department is at the highest level.

Do you have the required experience for the Mechanical Assembly Fitter role?

  • 2+ years experience working in a Production, Manufacturing or Assembly role, focused on the assembly of complex systems, or;
  • 2+ years experience working in mechanical maintenance, where you understand how complex systems work.
  • Ideally qualified to NVQ level 2, although this is not essential.
