Buyer

Successful manufacturing engineering business require a Buyer. Applicants need procurement or supply chain experience within a manufacturing/engineering business, and previous exposure to an MRP/ERP system.

The Buyer will join a medium-sized procurement function of Buyers and Senior Buyers, reporting to a Procurement Manager. The Buyer will manage their own suite of suppliers (directs for manufacturing) and be responsible for managing them against OTD/OTIF metrics, while ensuring continuity of supply to the facility. An exciting, end-to-end procurement role the Buyer will have the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders in engineering and production.

Specific duties of the Buyer include:

  • Work in MRP - transact demand signals, address exception messages and maintain supplier/delivery data
  • Supplier orderbook management, management of the PO process, expediting, scheduling/re-scheduling
  • Support quality in regards to supplier NCR issues
  • Monitor, manage and drive improved OTD/OTIF performance from the supply chain
  • Collaboration with wider procurement community and also stakeholders within production, engineering, quality

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Procurement experience, ideally as a Buyer, Junior Buyer or Senior Buyer
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
  • Exposure to an MRP/ERP system
  • An out-going, positive and proactive manager of internal and external relationships
  • Self-motivated
