Job Overview: The Management Accountant ensures the company receives payments for goods and services and accurately records these transactions. This role involves verifying receipts, resolving discrepancies, and assuring the effectiveness of internal controls in compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle general accounting tasks, including managing cash, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and expense reports.
- Ensure the proper segregation of duties and implement controls to prevent impropriety.
- Manage the monthly close and financial reporting process, including quarterly and year-end activities.
- Perform account reconciliations and prepare journal entries.
- Lead and support internal and external audit processes.
- Create and analyse sales, gross margin, and cost reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- 2 years industry experience in a similar role
- Strong skills in math, communication, and organisation.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and advanced Excel skills.
