You will be joining the Accounting Tribe/Domain within Deutsche Bank's Global Technology, Data, and Innovation (TDI) group. Our specific team is responsible for the Deferred Compensation application (DBCobra) Compensation Booking Reporting Application) which calculates finance accruals for posting into the General Ledger. We are working to create simplified, reusable, consumable applications, data and infrastructure.

You will use your Software Engineering skills to support business growth through digital innovation. You will be responsible for crafting solutions to accomplish business goals with focus on quality, maintainability, compliance, and ease of testing built in from the outset. Collaborating within a team and across teams, you will mentor and coach other team members in engineering principles, best practice, and culture.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage vendor team of remote engineers, IT application owner delegate and other technology partners to support Product Owner and Business Owner to deliver Product Vision.
  • Design & document complex technical solutions at varying architecture levels in an inclusive and participatory manner with a range of stakeholders
  • Collaborating with application development teams to design and prototype solutions presenting these via necessary forums for approval and providing good practice and guidelines to the teams.
  • Ensuring architecture compliance with bank-standard processes for deploying new applications, working directly with central functions such as Group Architecture, Chief Security Office and Data Governance
  • Innovate and think creatively, showing willingness to apply new approaches to solving problems and to learn new methods, technologies and potentially outside-of-box solution

Your skills and experience

  • Solid technical/engineering background, preferably with at least one high level language and a relational or big-data database technology

Competence / expertise in technical skills across a wide range of technology platforms including JAVA, Oracle, Control M, ETL and ability to use and learn new frameworks, libraries and technologies

  • Understanding of general Finance and Financial reporting processes but specifically functional knowledge of Deferred Compensation processes.
  • Ability to document and translate Finance Requirements and deliver technology solutions
  • A deep understanding of the software development life cycle and the waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills, with demonstrable ability to interface and converse at all levels and with non-IT staff
