We are seeking an enthusiastic Analytics Engineer to join our Insights team to support the business in maximising the use of data and insight, driving real change internally and for our customer groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data modelling: Build, maintain, and iterate on marketing data pipelines. Moving from the current state to a more modernised data stack - Airflow, DBT, Looker
  • Marketing data expert: Be the expert in all of our marketing data -becoming the go-to person for the Marketing, Data Science, Analytics teams
  • Bridge Business Needs and Technical Possibilities: Work closely with Analytics Business Partners to bridge the gap between business requirements, technical capabilities, and scalability. Managing large and small scale projects from start to finish
  • Empower self service: Develop a semantic and reporting layer for our suite of marketing data products, delivering data that can be consumed and utilised by all end users with ease
  • Analytics Infrastructure Strategy: Define the marketing analytics infrastructure strategy for various datasets, setting the standards for data modelling, management, code practices, and documentation.
  • Third-Party Data Ingestion: Manage ad-hoc third-party data ingestions (e.g.Social Media, App Store Data, Media Agency Reporting, etc).
  • Collaborating with stakeholders: Work alongside Analysts to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely marketing data, insights and dashboards, ensuring the data drives business decisions

Skills and Experience

  • At least two years of experience as an Analytics Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer or in a similar role
  • Strong SQL skills for programming and data modelling. Knowledge of database design and architecture principles, particularly Snowflake schema, Kimball, or STAR schema
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouses, particularly Snowflake and Big Query
  • Familiarity with DBT
  • Familiarity with modern business intelligence tools, particularly Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Thoughtspot
  • Proven experience managing concurrent complex data projects from start to finish
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Fluent in basic software engineering principles, including git, agile, sprints, and retrospectives
  • Experience of turning marketing data into actionable insights
  • Experience working with marketing data and the associated platforms i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Google Search Ads and turning this into actionable insights
