Finance Manager

Reed Finance are exclusively partnered with an established client in the Horsham area who are seeking a Finance Manager to ensure the efficient day-to-day running and controls of the Finance Department for three companies. As Finance Manager this role involves maintaining tight control over all financial matters and reporting directly to the Financial Director. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance management.

Day to Day duties of the Finance Manager:

  • Oversee all financial functions including accounting, payroll, billing, and sales ledger.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital effectively.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including monthly management accounts and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain an accurate Asset Register.
  • Monitor department budgets, raising concerns and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Control operational costs while maintaining service quality and report on variances from the budget.
  • Oversee financial audit and internal control operations.
  • Manage external relationships with auditors, banks, insurers, brokers, and advisors.
  • Implement and maintain financial management systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee workplace facilities management.
  • Provide line management for direct reports, including supervision, task delegation, and performance management.
  • Share knowledge with the team and contribute to the company's succession planning activities.
  • Perform other duties as required from time to time.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACCA, CIMA qualified or part-qualified (to a higher level) or qualified by experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Senior Finance Role.
  • Proficient in legislation and best practices.
  • Experienced in using computerised accounting systems and delivering to deadlines.
  • Advanced user of MS Excel and proficient in standard office skills (MS Word, Outlook).
  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills with high standards of accuracy.
  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making.
  • Strong ethics, leadership, and clear decision-making.
  • High integrity and commitment to good governance.
