Business Development Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team, you will be on-the-road and the face of the brand and sub brands, in the UK and with the possibility of intermittent tasks in *Germany and / or Spain. Offering support and assistance to the sales and marketing team(s) to raise your client(s) profile and ensure the maximum sales potential is realized.
The Job:

  • Maintain an awareness of company destinations/client(s) and of relevant sales and marketing techniques to ensure that the role is carried out as effectively as possible.
  • Handle trade enquiries (via email, telephone).
  • Responsible for your assigned clients program & drive sales.
  • Preparation and delivery of destination training to tour operators and agents.
  • Assist with the preparation of client(s) presentations.
  • Research and co-ordinate trade events.
  • Assist with the organization, and attend, sales missions, familiarisation trips, research groups, trade training seminars, workshops, and events, including trade and consumer shows.
  • Monitor client(s) accounts to ensure that the maximum sales potential is realised.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and marketing activity.
  • Work closely with PR and trade & consumer marketing teams to ensure that the client's plans are delivered effectively and within the agreed financial limits of their budget.
  • Responsible for all day-to-day administrative tasks including visitor statistics analysis, website monitoring and the preparation of marketing plans.
  • Keep abreast of the client(s) business by reading and researching market data, product profiles etc.
  • Work closely with both BD Global Partnerships & Trade Sales team on strategic calls as required to maximize desired outcomes in retail and wholesale sectors.
  • Be available to participate in sales initiatives in regions outside of UK from time to time as required and agreed.

Skills Required:

  • Qualification to degree level ideally
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience of working within the travel and tourism industry
  • A thorough understanding of the work of the Company
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in a second language (ideally Spanish and / or German) would be desirable.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and capable of managing and prioritising the workload
  • Ability to work and thrive in a multi tasked and fast paced environment on their own and within a team
  • Proficiency in word, excel and outlook
  • Flexible approach and a can-do attitude essential
  • Analytical and methodical approach

The Package:

  • Salary £40,000 + Car allowance (Car will be company branded)
