Overview:
As an IT Apprentice at Kirby Group you will support the IT department in maintaining and improving our technology infrastructure.
This apprenticeship will provide you with hands-on experience in various aspects of IT, including technical support, network administration and system maintenance.

You will work under the guidance of experienced IT professionals, gaining valuable skills and knowledge to advance your career in information technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Point of contact for escalations, involving telephone + remote support
  • Setting up Desktops, laptops + mobile phones
  • Maintaining + Monitoring Windows Servers
  • VOIP Setup + Support
  • Managing new users within Microsoft 365
  • Basic Network troubleshooting
  • Logging calls through CRM

What we are looking for:
Desired skills and qualities:

  • A strong interest in information technology and a desire to learn
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Familiarity with basic network concepts and cybersecurity principles would be a plus.

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Salary: £16,000 - £18,000 per annum.
