What you'll be doing:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced press officer or journalist to join People's Partnership, provider of The People's Pension, to further grow our media presence across national and regional print and broadcast media.

  • Produce key communication materials including press releases, comments, opinion pieces and other material required to support the strategic aims of the business.
  • Initiate and deliver creative media plans and identifysuitable media opportunities on a pro-active and reactive basis, to promote key issues and maximise media coverage.
  • Deal promptly and effectively with the media, supplying quotes, interviews and background information where appropriate, continually demonstrating excellent judgement and news sense.
  • Provide specialist media and public relations input to specific projects. This includes providing advice, and leading on the development and delivery of media strands for specific projects.
  • Deliver outstanding copy, often translating complex information into easily understandable and engaging language.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience of working in a press office or as a journalist.
  • An established network of relevant media contacts (desirable) or the ability to build them fast (essential)
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Proven record of devising and delivering creative media plans and placing stories to help promote an organisation.
  • Ability to convert complex message into easily understandable media friendly copy.
