Payroll and Pensions Administrator

  • Day rate: £100 - £110 plus holiday pay (or £123 - 137 umbrella per day)
  • Location: Farnborough (Hybrid - 1 to 2 days in the office)
  • Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) would consider part time / flexible hours
  • Duration: 3 - 4 months initially (possible temp to perm)

My client is seeking a dedicated Payroll and Pensions Administrator to assist with the effective and smooth running of their payroll function. This role involves processing all associated payroll and pensions tasks in line with agreed processes and timescales, ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation and Pension Scheme rules.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Assisting with processing payroll for approximately 250 employees using Sage 50 payroll.
  • Updating calculations of employee gross pay for new starters, leavers, promotions, changes in contractual hours, and overtime.
  • Handling employee tax code changes as advised by HMRC and updating the Sage 50 payroll system for changes in employee details.
  • Reviewing, retrieving, and reconciling pay data, issuing payslips, and responding to employee payroll queries.
  • Processing leavers, submitting FPS and EPS to HMRC, and reconciling and paying PAYE.
  • Maintaining records of employees with dual or more roles and processing monthly payroll journal into Sage 50 Accounts software.
  • Supporting the process for payments to Self Employed staff and maintaining Pension database for joiners, leavers, and changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with Sage 50 payroll and Sage 50 Accounts software.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation and Pension Scheme rules.
  • Proficiency in managing payroll for a large number of employees.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
