Accounts and Payroll Executive

Juice Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an established and successful umbrella services organisation, with the appointment of an Accounts and Payroll Executive. Their modern offices are located in Central Bristol, just minutes from Bristol Temple Meads.

This role involves supporting both the Finance and Payroll teams in the day-to-day payroll processes and customer service tasks. It offers excellent career progression opportunities, beginning with a focus on expense processing and invoicing, and gradually advancing to more complex financial and payroll responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process high volumes of invoices, credit notes, timesheets, and expense forms with efficiency.
  • Prepare, calculate, and verify high-volume payrolls, ensuring all related documentation (such as payroll reports, HMRC correspondence, and payslips) complies with company policies and UK tax regulations.
  • Utilise Excel to reconcile bank statements and handle recurring financial transactions.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Provide payroll reports and documentation to contractors, agency partners, and internal teams while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection regulations.
  • Assist in calculating pension deductions, preparing pension payments, and resolving queries related to both Private and Workplace Pension schemes.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through phone, email, and webchat.

Additional Responsibilities (to develop over time):

  • Manage accruals and prepayments.
  • Gain exposure to VAT reconciliation and preparation checks.
  • Reconcile various balance sheet nominal accounts.
  • Conduct credit terms analysis and perform reconciliations for credit arrangements.

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and approachable telephone manner.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly strong Excel skills.

Further Details:

  • Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week)
  • 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • On-the-job training with opportunities for additional professional development as needed.
  • On-site training for the first six months, with the option to transition to hybrid working upon successful completion of the probationary period.
